If, as the saying goes ‘everyone is Irish on St Patrick’s Day,’ then why not jump on the bandwagon and invite a little bit of the ‘luck of the Irish’ into your life?
A bit of luck goes a long way and is often cited as playing a part in the stories of those who have accomplished what they set out to do in their life. Whilst pure luck may have played a part, it often appears alongside an ability to generate individual luck.
Listen a little closer to the stories of those who inspire us through accomplishing their dreams (big or small) and it’s no coincidence that being crystal clear on what they wanted from the outset, hard work and perseverance played a huge part in creating good fortune.
To get actionable about creating more luck in our lives we can start at the very beginning and take practical steps, one day at time….
- Get crystal clear on what you really, really want.
Maybe this sounds straightforward or maybe not. Sometimes knowing what really matters to us can be clouded by external influences such as messages from marketeers, financial obligations, duty and pressures from social networks combined with the belief that tells us that what we really want is not possible for us. Setting aside some time to discover what our own personal values are is the first step to unlocking the door.

2. Take a risk. Make mistakes. Be willing to be wrong.
Just to be clear, taking a risk doesn’t have to mean abandoning life as we know it and running off into the sunset leaving a trail of devastation behind us. Of course taking a risk means different things to different people – meet yourself where you’re at and decide what that looks like for you. If a risk doesn’t give you the outcome that you were hoping for, then the ability to look at our perceived mistakes as opportunities to learn can be freeing and open us up to new possibility.

3. Choose courage over comfort
Show up, speak up, honour your talents and follow through. Maybe you’re already Joan of Arc on the courage continuum or maybe you’re a little more Lion from the Wizard of Oz. Wherever you’re at right now, choose to move towards that which scares you and ask yourself ‘what’s the next step I can take?’ (no matter how big or small).

4. Live Bold
When was the last time you surprised yourself, did something different? Whatever surprising yourself looks like to you; whether that be taking on a physical challenge if you’re usually an accomplished sofa surfer, giving yourself a day off to simply go with the flow if you’re mostly married to your schedule. The shift in energy from the usual routine can connect us to parts of ourselves that just may ignite a little spark to discover what more we could be capable of in all areas of life.

5. Listen to your Intuition
Developing a strong connection to our intuition supports the development of a deep sense of trust in ourselves and the ability to follow a ‘hunch’. Learning to listen to our inner knowing will guide us in the next best direction. Many an opportunity has been accessed via a ‘gut instinct’ that may have been missed if the ability to ‘tune in’ had been switched off.

Of course these 5 ideas are just part of the plan to generate more luck in your life and will all benefit from a level of focus and commitment to tone down any distractions.
Wishing you much love, luck, faith and fun as you continue on your personal path of life!
